In a world split between land and sea, where Quecans walk the earth and Amamans traverse the ocean depths, balance is upset by the Evermore Rain. Every day of the year but one it rains, with no explicable cause or end in sight. Rising sea levels uproot homes, erosion pollutes the ocean, and death is widespread. As tensions rise, desperation drives the two species to turn against each other. A period of war begins.
